Summary

Bianca Belair has opened up about why she and her husband decided this was the right time to have a baby during her ongoing WWE absence.

Before the main event of WrestleMania 42, Belair made a surprise appearance alongside John Cena and told fans she was pregnant. She later explained that the decision came after her recovery from the finger injury she suffered at WrestleMania did not go the way she expected.

Quote from Bianca Belair

"As everybody knows, at WrestleMania, I broke my finger, I broke my knuckle, had joint damage, and lost a portion of the joint that can't be fixed.

Originally, I thought it was going to be a pretty straightforward recovery. They told me 8 to 12 weeks, but it just didn't heal correctly. It still won't bend to this day, that's as much as it'll move, and I can't get in the ring.

It got to the point where I hit four months, and I've always wanted to have a baby. I'm not getting any younger, and honestly, this is what I want to do. For so long, I felt like I was putting what I wanted, and myself, on the back burner.

My husband and I had a talk, and I told him I'm ready to do something for me. I've sacrificed enough, and I'm ready to have a baby."

What Bianca Belair's update means for WWE

Belair's comments make it clear her absence was not a simple short-term injury layoff. Because she said the finger still will not bend and that she still cannot get back in the ring, WWE fans should not read her WrestleMania 42 appearance as a sign that an in-ring return is right around the corner.

It also gives clearer context to that WrestleMania moment. Instead of serving as the start of a comeback story, Belair used one of WWE's biggest stages to share a major personal life update while her recovery remained unresolved.
