Summary

Brody King says fans have not seen the last of Brodido, the tag team he formed with Bandido in AEW. The duo won the AEW World Tag Team Championships together before stepping back to pursue singles competition in early 2026. Speaking to Denise Salcedo, King reflected on how the partnership came together and left the door open for a future reunion.

Quote from Brody King

"Me and Bandido have been friends for a long time, since PWG, honestly. Then we went to Ring of Honor together. We went to Japan together. We've been around each other for a very long time, so we're very familiar with each other. We know how each other wrestles. We've wrestled each other a bunch, so when we did this, I think it was just like a random, like, all-star tag team match or whatever, and then our chemistry was just perfect. Somebody, I think, tweeted the word Brodido, and then Tony was like, that's it, Brodido. Then we became champions. We had a classic match with FTR. We had a great match with Takeshita and Okada. I can't complain. We had great matches with the Young Bucks. I hope that once everything starts to settle down, we can get back to tag team wrestling, and Brodido, you definitely haven't seen the end of Brodido."

How Brodido Came Together

The partnership was unplanned. King and Bandido's history stretches back through PWG, ROH, and tours of Japan, giving them a familiarity that made the chemistry instant when they were slotted into a random all-star tag match. The "Brodido" name originated from a social media post; Tony Khan ran with it and the team was born. They went on to capture the AEW World Tag Team Championships and put together high-profile defenses against FTR, the combination of Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada, and the Young Bucks.

What This Could Mean for Brody King and Bandido in AEW

King has recently been competing in high-profile singles matches, and the current singles run for both men appears to be the reason the team stepped back rather than any creative fallout. The reunion timeline is open-ended, tied to how the singles pictures settle. If either man hits a ceiling in the solo division, a Brodido revival gives AEW a proven tag unit with title credentials to plug back into the tag picture at short notice.
