Summary
Charlotte Flair said it means a lot to step into another WrestleMania match with Bayley, adding a new chapter to one of WWE's longest-running rivalries of the last decade.
The two will be part of a four-way tag team match for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Their only previous WrestleMania match came at WrestleMania 33, when Bayley retained the Raw Women's Championship against Flair, Nia Jax and Sasha Banks.
Quote from Charlotte Flair
Speaking with Kay Adams, Flair said:
"Probably Bayley because she's one of the four horsewomen. We've actually competed against each other when she retained the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. We have so much history, I feel like we're always trying to outdo one another. Being on the same card and in the same match with her again at WrestleMania, it feels pretty special. It's one thing to be on WrestleMania, but it's another to be on two different WrestleManias with the same girl."
What Bayley and Charlotte Flair bring into WrestleMania 42
Flair naming Bayley over anyone else in the field says plenty about how much their shared history still matters. Even in a tag title match with multiple teams involved, WWE has a built-in thread between two Four Horsewomen who have been tied together since their NXT rise and their main roster championship battles.
It also adds a little more weight to the match itself. Flair has already described teaming with Alexa Bliss in the WWE Women's Tag Title match as something that feels special, and her comments about Bayley show WWE can lean on both nostalgia and current star power when the bell rings at WrestleMania 42.
