Summary
The first official trailer for *Street Fighter* was released on April 16, and it includes several recognizable names from pro wrestling.
Cody Rhodes appears in the film as Guile, Roman Reigns is cast as Akuma, and Hirooki Goto appears as E. Honda. The movie is set for a theatrical release on October 16.
That trailer drop follows Cody Rhodes' earlier Guile-themed appearance at CinemaCon, where he helped spotlight the project before the full footage was released.

Quote from Paramount
"ROUND ONE....FIGHT!!....Legendary Pictures and Capcom's live-action adaptation of the iconic video game franchise Street Fighter, which is filmed for IMAX®, will punch into theaters on October 16, 2026."
Paramount also released the official setup for the film:
"Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don't, it's GAME OVER!"
What this means for Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and Hirooki Goto
Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns landing prominent roles in a major studio video game adaptation gives WWE two of its biggest crossover stars another mainstream platform outside the weekly wrestling calendar.
Goto's inclusion matters too, because it puts an active NJPW name in the same trailer and broadens the wrestling footprint of the project beyond WWE alone. For wrestling fans, the hook here is not just that wrestlers were cast, but that three established in-ring names made the first official trailer together.
