Summary
Dixie Carter reportedly declined multiple invitations to take part in the upcoming three-part TNA documentary series on Dark Side of the Ring.
The report says Carter was asked more than once to appear in the episodes, which are set to open season seven of the series. The new season begins July 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Vice TV with two back-to-back installments centered on TNA, and a third TNA-focused episode will follow the next week.
Quote from Mike Johnson
"Dixie Carter turned down multiple invitations to appear in Dark Side of the Ring's three-part TNA Wrestling documentary."
Who is already set for the TNA episodes
Several notable names from different eras of the promotion have already been confirmed for the documentary, including Jeff Jarrett, Vince Russo, Jim Cornette, and Matt and Jeff Hardy.
That lineup gives the series a mix of executive, creative, and in-ring perspectives as it revisits one of the most turbulent stretches in company history. It also follows earlier coverage of the season premiere, which is set to begin with a three-part look at TNA and Jeff Jarrett.
What Dixie Carter's absence means for TNA
Carter led the company from 2002 until 2017 after Panda Energy, the business run by her family, purchased TNA. Because she was both the promotion's president and a regular on-screen figure for much of that run, her absence would leave the documentary without one of the central voices from that era.
It also stands out because Carter resurfaced on TNA television earlier this year with a surprise appearance on the company's January 15 iMPACT! debut on AMC. If she does not appear in the series, viewers may get the TNA story largely through the perspectives of other executives, creatives, and talent rather than from the woman most closely tied to that chapter of the promotion.
