Summary
Gabby Forza said Mercedes Mone played a key role in helping her land her first international booking in Paris. Forza explained that she was traveling from Italy to Japan and had a layover in Paris, where timing lined up with Mone’s appearance at the BZW x Rixe Apogee event.
Forza was added to the pre-show and shared the ring with Calypso and Celine Faery. She said she had originally planned to attend as a fan before getting the match opportunity.
Mercedes Mone and Gabby Forza’s Paris opportunity on the indie circuit
Gabby Forza getting added to a Paris card during a travel stopover gave her an earlier international in-ring milestone than planned, which can strengthen her profile ahead of future overseas bookings. Her account also highlights how Mercedes Mone’s active independent schedule created visibility that directly helped another wrestler get onto the event.
Forza’s comments fit the broader theme of wrestlers discussing growth moments and presentation changes, similar to another recent talent-focused development story.
Quote from Gabby Forza
"I got to wrestle internationally. I was booked in Japan to wrestle internationally, but I was in Italy for two weeks. I just had family there. Then a layover between Italy and Japan is Paris. So I stayed in Paris for five days. It just so happened to be the same time that Mercedes Mone was going from Italy to Paris. So I was in Italy the same time as Mercedes Mone. I saw that, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she did a seminar. I’m five hours away from that. I wish I could have gone.’ Then I see she’s wrestling in Paris the day I’m in Paris. I go to the show. I got added to that show. So I got to wrestle in France, all thanks to Mercedes Mone on her independent wrestling tour, defending her belts and her exposure to independent wrestling overseas. It actually got me my booking, my first international booking, before my international booking, which was just supposed to be a layover. I was just going to go as a fan to watch her wrestle. Instead, I got to be the opening match on that show and then watch her in the main event. I got to talk to her. She thought that story was amazing and asked me to be in a documentary she’s working on."
