Summary
Je'Von Evans says two of the matches he wants most involve the people closest to his own wrestling journey, Jackson Drake and LaBron Kozone.
While discussing dream opponents, Evans said the biggest one for him would be facing Drake, who he described as his best friend, on the WrestleMania stage. He also pointed to Kozone, his trainer, and called him underrated for helping both Evans and Drake reach their current spots in the business.
That latest interview followed another recent Evans comment in which he said he would like Danhausen to curse Ethan Page after their NXT feud.
Quote from Je'Von Evans
Speaking on the Battle on the Battleground podcast, Evans said:
"Aside from me wrestling my best friend at WrestleMania, that's my dream match, me wrestling Jackson Drake at WrestleMania. I'm good. Outside of that, Greensboro, North Carolina, May 18, my trainer LaBron Kozone. He is so underrated. He got me and Jackson to where we're at right now. If I could pay it back to him and have a WrestleMania match, that would be a great dream opponent for me."
What Jackson Drake and LaBron Kozone mean to Je'Von Evans
Evans naming Drake and Kozone gives the answer more weight than a standard dream match list built around established stars. He framed both choices around personal history, which says plenty about how he sees his own rise and the people he believes helped shape it.
It also keeps attention on Evans as WWE heads into WrestleMania 42, where he is scheduled for a six-man ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Even in a crowded title match, Evans is continuing to build his own identity by tying his future to the names that mattered before the spotlight got this bright.
