Summary

Jim Ross said he believes Vince McMahon could still end up involved in WWE creative around WrestleMania 42.

Speaking on his podcast, Ross said he has little doubt McMahon will contribute in some form, even if the exact scope is unclear. He framed that belief around the amount of speculation already surrounding McMahon and said he sees too much smoke for there to be nothing behind it.

Ross also made clear he was not presenting it as a knock on Triple H's creative team. Instead, he said he views McMahon as someone with a proven big-picture mind who could still be used if WWE chose to do so.

Quote from Jim Ross

"Yeah, absolutely. No doubt about it. I don't even have a question in my mind. It's the old cliché, where there's smoke, oftentimes there's fire. And there's been a lot of smoke regarding VKM in WWE, and what his future may or may not be, and how he can still contribute. He's a big-picture guy, and that takes a lot of detail work and planning, but he can do that. He can make all that happen."

Ross later went on to say:

"And, you know, he's hungry. If he's making pies, we know he's in the kitchen. So I just don't think there's any doubt in my mind that Vince will be instrumental in this year's WrestleMania as far as creative is concerned.

[You think he's involved in creative for this year's WrestleMania?] Oh yeah. He's not going to wait on anything. As John Wayne would say, 'we're burning daylight.' Something's going to happen, and I believe that McMahon will be able to contribute to this year's WrestleMania.

That's one of the great things about pro wrestling nowadays, you get all this input, all this smoke, as we said earlier. And there's a lot of smoke out there right now, and I think through the haze that Vince McMahon will rise again to some level.

This may be main events, this may be titles or whatever, I don't know. But I can't see this much talk and speculation about Vince for there not to be something there. He may not be as active as I perceive that he might be, but I don't know. I just think that he's going to be involved in WrestleMania in some shape, form, or fashion.

And that's not a disrespect to Triple H's team at all. It's just the fact that you've got the most successful pro wrestling guy in history who's available, and I think you use whoever's available in the best way they can be used and call it a day, see where it takes you."

Vince McMahon and WrestleMania 42 speculation

Ross' comments add another public voice to the ongoing conversation about McMahon's possible influence ahead of WrestleMania 42. That does not confirm any formal role, but it does keep the subject alive as WWE heads deeper into its biggest season of the year.

For fans watching the road to WrestleMania 42, the main takeaway is that talk around McMahon has not gone away, even with Triple H firmly leading WWE creative. Ross' remarks also fit alongside Road Dogg's comments on a possible Vince McMahon WrestleMania 42 return, which shows the subject is still circulating around people with long ties to WWE.
