Summary

Jonathan Coachman blasted Danhausen and Minihausen's win over The Miz and Kit Wilson at WWE Backlash 2026, calling the segment a misuse of a storyline that had built up mystery around Danhausen's partner.

Danhausen and Minihausen scored the victory at the premium live event after weeks of buildup, including Kit Wilson saying he and The Miz underestimated Danhausen before Backlash.

Social media reaction

Coachman took to X after the match and said the payoff did not land for him.

"Okay you all have to stop coming at me about this ridiculous Dan Hausen experiment. One of the biggest storylines you could actually bet on who was gonna be as partner tonight and they decide to go with a little person. What are we doing? I'm all for entertainment and wrestling, but this is absolutely a complete waste of time and just dumb. And Wade Barrett said he's making a mockery. That's exactly what this is. I understand he's popular with the kids and the T-shirts and stuff. But this is gonna get old real quick and for me I'm already over it. This is an absolute waste of time."

Coachman continued by arguing that the segment did little to embarrass either Miz or Wilson, and he pointed to the live crowd reaction as another sign that the act missed the mark.

"And the crowd doesn't know if they should boo cheer or what. We couldn't get CM Punk, or Oba [Femi], or Drew [McIntyre]. I mean the whole point is to embarrass Kit Wilson and The Miz one more time. This doesn't do any of that not even close to that. It just embarrasses the company. Listen to the crowd you can hear a pin drop."

What this means for Danhausen after Backlash

Danhausen's WWE presentation is still built around comedy, but Coachman's reaction shows how sharply that approach can divide viewers when it becomes part of a featured premium live event match. Because this angle involved The Miz and a heavily promoted mystery partner reveal, the response to Minihausen is likely to stay part of the conversation around where Danhausen fits on the card from here.
