Summary

Kenny Omega says he expects fans to see a different version of him when he meets MJF again at AEW Dynasty.

Omega and MJF previously faced each other for the AEW World Title on the October 28, 2023 edition of AEW Collision, where MJF won the match. Ahead of their rematch on Sunday, Omega said his condition is better than it was the last time they shared the ring.

The latest comments add another layer to a Dynasty build that has already put Omega in focus on AEW television, including recent Dynamite segments that helped shape the pay-per-view direction.

Quote from Kenny Omega

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Omega said:

"I mean, arguably, I’m in a little bit better shape. I’m not as sick as I once was. I think that the physical conditioning that I’m in now just is above and beyond where it was at before. So I think you’re gonna see a different version of myself. Are we gonna see a different version of MJF? I mean, I don’t know. He’s the kind of guy who thinks that his version of himself as he is, as he is before us right now is perfect. If you think of perfection in man and human history, you’re gonna think that it’s gonna be MJF. or he would think of himself as, as such. So it’s less of what I’m bringing new to the table, and what is MJF going to bring that’s new to the table? I don’t know. We’ll see on Sunday. So yeah, we’ll definitely see."

What Omega's condition could mean at AEW Dynasty

Omega's update matters because it frames this rematch around his health and conditioning, not just around his history with MJF. If Omega is entering Dynasty in stronger shape than he was for the 2023 Collision title match, that gives AEW a clear story hook for why this meeting could play out differently.

It also puts some attention back on MJF before the bell rings. Omega presented the bout as a test of whether MJF has changed at all, which gives the match an added competitive edge beyond simply revisiting their last title encounter.
