Summary

Lexy Nair has opened up about the unlikely chain of events that led her into professional wrestling's broadcast world. In a recent conversation with Denise Salcedo, Nair revealed that it was Cody and Brandi Rhodes who first planted the seed, encouraging her to try her hand at backstage interviewing when she had no background in wrestling at all.

The entry point, as Nair explained, was her stepfather Diamond Dallas Page. DDP introduced her to the wrestling world and, through him, she crossed paths with the Rhodes family. What followed was a career pivot she never saw coming.

Nair has since become a recognizable face on AEW programming and plays a particularly prominent role in Ring of Honor, where she is closely involved in storylines with Athena and Billie Starkz.

Quote from Lexy Nair

Speaking to Salcedo, Nair described the moment she was approached:

"So, my stepdad is Diamond Dallas Page. So, there's that, and then he pretty much introduced me to the wrestling world. I had no prior knowledge of wrestling or what it was at all, and through him, I met Cody and Brandi Rhodes, and they just saw something in me. They were like, 'hey, would you be interested in interviewing?' I'm like, you guys are crazy. I had a totally different career path, and I just kind of pivoted and was like, you know what? The universe has put this in front of me. Let me just go with it. Let me just- there's a reason why this is happening right now, and yeah, that's when I just kind of, Cody was like, 'you'll be fine,' and if anyone knows Cody, that is so him. You'll do great. You'll just figure it out, and yeah, I was so terrified (for) my very first interview I ever did for AEW. But yeah, I mean, it's just, again, full circle moment. I'm here now and it's crazy."

What Lexy Nair's story says about AEW's early culture

Nair's account reflects something that defined the early years of AEW: Cody and Brandi Rhodes were instrumental in shaping who got opportunities and who got through the door. Their fingerprints are on more careers than most fans realise, even as Cody's own trajectory has since taken him back to WWE.

For Nair specifically, the bet paid off. She has carved out a stable, visible role on both AEW and ROH television, and her work with Athena and Billie Starkz on Ring of Honor has given her genuine character depth beyond straight reporting duties.
