Summary
Lizzy Rain says she knew she had found the right WWE entrance theme as soon as she heard a guitar riff that reminded her of Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher." The NXT talent said she was sent several in-house tracks before settling on the one that matched the kind of hard rock energy she wanted for her presentation.
The comments add another detail to Rain's early run on the brand after she revealed her NXT debut began with a WrestleMania 42 text.
Quote from Lizzy Rain
Speaking on the Ropes N' Riffs podcast, Rain explained how the music came together:
"So, being a part of the WWE, we have all our own music in-house. I was sent loads of different songs. I went through them all and as soon as I heard the guitar riff, I said, 'This sounds like it's got a vibe of Hot For Teacher and I love that song. I feel like it's really relatable and lots of people like that song.' Then I thought, over this guitar riff and one of the creative team [members] said, 'Why don't we do like a rock thing over the top of it live? Like you can say something before you come out.' I thought, that's it, that's got to be it. I'm really happy with my theme song in the WWE, I love it. I love that I get to have a live little promo before I come out. Yeah, I think it's really cool."
What Lizzy Rain's theme adds to her NXT presentation
Lizzy Rain said the creative team wanted a live rock element before she comes out, and that gives her a more distinct introduction on NXT television. For a newer act still building momentum, a recognizable riff and a short spoken moment before the entrance can make Rain stand out faster in a crowded division.
