Summary

Mascara Dorada says Will Ospreay is the AEW name he most wants to face next.

Dorada, who works under a dual AEW-CMLL deal announced in January, said he has already shared the ring with several opponents he had hoped to test himself against, including Kenny Omega and Bandido. But when asked which AEW wrestler he still wants across from him, Ospreay was the first name he gave.

Dorada has already picked up notable AEW ring time through the 2025 Continental Classic and other appearances against names such as Konosuke Takeshita, Jon Moxley, Kazuchika Okada, and Omega. Outside AEW, his schedule has stayed busy too, including an upcoming MLP Multiverse match alongside Mistico and Amazing Red.

Quote from Mascara Dorada

"I've already had the chance to face wrestlers I've wanted to face, like Kenny Omega. I was in a four-way match against Kenny Omega, Claudio Castagnoli, and Brody King, and that's something very, very important to me, because he's a wrestler I've looked up to for a long time. I also wanted to face Bandido; I've already had that chance, but if we're talking about wrestlers I haven't faced yet, I think I'd have to go with Will Ospreay."

Dorada later went on to say:

"He's a very well-rounded wrestler, every time he steps into the ring, it's a five-star match, no matter who he's facing. He's a very imposing wrestler, very strong, and very agile. PAC is a wrestler who's also incredibly strong. He's a very, very daring wrestler; he has some beautiful dives. These are wrestlers from whom I want to absorb a little bit of experience because they're the best in the world, right? To be among the best in the world, you have to face the best in the world."

Dorada's recent AEW run

Dorada's most recent AEW singles match aired on the March 14 edition of AEW Collision, where he faced Andrade El Idolo. The source story also notes that he recently advanced to the finals of the 2026 CMLL Universal Tournament.

What Will Ospreay would mean for Mascara Dorada in AEW

An Ospreay match would immediately give Mascara Dorada another measuring-stick bout against one of AEW's most protected in-ring names. For a wrestler already bouncing between AEW and CMLL, that kind of matchup would keep Dorada visible in the partnership and add another major opponent to a resume that already includes Omega, Okada, and Moxley.

It also fits the way Dorada framed his own growth. He did not talk about chasing a specific grudge or title here. He talked about facing the best available talent, and Ospreay sits near the top of that list in AEW.
