Summary

Matt Hardy believes the working relationship between TNA Wrestling and WWE could become more active again now that WrestleMania season is over.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani, Hardy said the slowdown in crossover appearances likely had more to do with WWE's focus on WrestleMania and the roster reset that followed than any larger issue between the companies. He also revealed that he and Jeff Hardy have signed a deal to appear in WWE 2K26 and said more merchandise opportunities are being discussed.

Quote from Matt Hardy

"I would say a lot of that is probably because it was WrestleMania season and everything was focused towards WrestleMania. And then WrestleMania now has, has come and it has gone, they kind of cleaned house a little bit. They called a lot of people up from NXT and they kind of reset. I would imagine the TNA/WWE/NXT relationship will probably heat back up a little bit coming forward."

Hardy later went on to say:

"And one thing I can say that I am very happy about, we signed a contract with WWE to be in the video games. WWE 2K26, and we're going to be doing the video games coming up for the immediate future. And we're talking about doing more merchandising stuff because, I mean, when it's all said and done, we're like a WWE legacy act. Of course, I don't think anybody will dispute that.

I like being able to be at TNA be in a position where we can contribute, we can work with younger talent, new talent, we can still stay relevant, we can still be involved in something that feels important with what we're doing on TNA, but then crossing over and still having merchandise and doing stuff with WWE.

Because I do love WWE. Like, I've said this, I said it in a post just recently, we have two homes. WWE was like our childhood home. If it wasn't for WWE and Vince McMahon allowing myself and Jeff to do what we did as the Hardy Boyz and giving us an opportunity to have this tag team ladder match, which became a tables match, which became this TLC concept, and we became famous there with WWE, we wouldn't be who we are.

But TNA is also our home because if it wasn't for TNA, I wouldn't have got to roll the dice on myself and try and do this insane concept called Broken Matt Hardy, you know, and Brother Nero and the Broken Universe, which totally rejuvenated our career and led us back to WWE when it was all said and done. So we definitely feel like we have two homes. WWE is our childhood home, and I think TNA is more of our adult home."

What Matt Hardy's update means for TNA and WWE

Matt Hardy's comments point to TNA and WWE keeping their relationship open, even if the crossover has been quieter in recent months. If that picks up again, TNA gets another boost from being tied to WWE and NXT, while WWE still has a familiar legacy act it can feature through games, merchandise, and selective appearances.

Hardy's mention of WWE 2K26 also shows the relationship is extending beyond television. For fans, that is a sign the Hardys can continue to serve as a bridge between both companies while still holding a meaningful role inside TNA.
