Summary

NJPW has announced three more entrants for Best of the Super Juniors 33, adding Robbie Eagles, Francesco Akira, and Jakob Austin Young to the tournament field.

The 2026 tournament begins on May 14 and wraps up on June 7 at Ota City General Gymnasium. The winner will receive an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship match.

Updated BOSJ 33 field

With this latest reveal, the announced names are El Desperado, DOUKI, Kosei Fujita, Daisuke Sasaki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, SHO, Valiente Jr., YOH, Master Wato, Jakob Austin Young, Francesco Akira, and Robbie Eagles.

These additions come after NJPW previously confirmed YOH, Master Wato and Valiente Jr for the tournament.

What Robbie Eagles, Francesco Akira and Jakob Austin Young change in BOSJ 33

Adding Eagles, Akira, and Young immediately gives BOSJ 33 more depth across both established names and newer momentum plays, which raises the difficulty of the block stage from opening night.

Because DOUKI enters as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion while the eventual winner earns a title shot, every tournament result involving top contenders now carries direct weight in NJPW's junior heavyweight title picture heading into the summer.
