Backstage and Angles
The Don Callis Family cut a promo ahead of the main event with Okada declaring himself and Kyle Fletcher the leaders of the group. Fletcher made clear that his sights are set on the AEW World Title.
Knight had stated his championship intentions backstage before the match, predicting he would leave with the belt. It was not to be, as Okada retained the International title despite the challenger's confidence.
Following their tag title loss, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron agreed to go their separate ways.
Mina Shirakawa and the Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor) won an open challenge trios match, then called out the Triangle of Madness. The group appeared from the crowd, with THEKLA warning Mina and her partners that they would end up like Toni Storm if they pressed further. Mina responded by challenging the Triangle of Madness to a trios match the following week.
Also announced: Ricochet and Don Callis reached an agreement in the aftermath of the ROX x MLP Global Wars event. Ricochet declared his intention to go after Kenny Omega.
During his match with Ace Austin, Tommaso Ciampa appeared to take aim at Juice Robinson with a knee strike but thought better of it and exited the ring.
What's Next for Okada and the Don Callis Family
Okada's successful defense keeps the International title picture static for now, but the bigger story inside the Callis camp is Fletcher's public declaration that he is hunting the AEW World Championship. With Okada and Fletcher both positioning themselves at the top of the card, the family's internal hierarchy is an angle worth watching.
Mina Shirakawa's open challenge win and her call-out of the Triangle of Madness sets up a trios match for next week's Collision. Shirakawa also went on record stating she is coming for the AEW Women's World Title, which puts her firmly in the title picture conversation going into the spring.
