Summary

Ricochet picked up a win over Chris Jericho at AEW Dynasty, handing Jericho a loss just days after his return to company television.

Jericho came back on the April 10 episode of Dynamite in his hometown of Winnipeg after being away from AEW for roughly a year. He then chose Ricochet as his opponent for Dynasty, a match that followed directly from that return angle and from the renewed focus around Jericho on weekly TV. That setup had already been established when Jericho named Ricochet for Dynasty.

Winner

Ricochet won the match after outside help from Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona affected the bout.

The finish came with Ricochet landing a Spirit Gun and then a Lionsault. Jericho was already hurt from a Shooting Star Press moments earlier, which left Ricochet in position to close the match out.

What Ricochet's win means in AEW

Ricochet getting the victory over Jericho gives AEW a clear result to build from right away, especially because Jericho had only just re-entered the picture after a long absence. A pay-per-view win over a name at Jericho's level keeps Ricochet moving as a featured player.

The interference from Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona also matters. Because Ricochet did not win clean, AEW has an easy path if it wants to revisit the issue on television or use Jericho's first match back to launch the next step of the feud.
