Summary

Rhea Ripley is once again WWE Women's Champion after defeating Jade Cargill on night two of WrestleMania 42.

Cargill had held the title since November 2025, and the match turned chaotic once Michin and B-Fab got involved at ringside. Michin distracted the referee while B-Fab pulled Cargill out of a Razor's Edge attempt, then Michin sent Ripley's head into the LED ring post while the official's attention was elsewhere.

Cargill looked close to retaining when she connected with a One Winged Angel, but Ripley kicked out at two. The interference kept coming until IYO SKY ran in to neutralize Michin and B-Fab, giving the match a cleaner finish than it looked like it was going to get.

The title change also paid off a rivalry WWE had spent time building, including the shots Cargill took at Ripley before their WrestleMania meeting.

Winner

Rhea Ripley defeated Jade Cargill by countering Jaded into Riptide to win the WWE Women's Championship.

What Ripley's win changes in WWE

Ripley leaves WrestleMania 42 with the division's top prize back around her waist, and that immediately reshapes the women's title picture on WWE programming. Cargill needed help and still could not put Ripley away, while SKY's involvement also leaves room for fallout beyond a straightforward one-on-one rematch.

For Ripley, this adds another major title win to a resume that already includes runs with the WWE Women's Championship, the Women's World Championship, the NXT Women's Championship, the NXT UK Women's Championship, and the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. Winning a match this protected, on a WrestleMania stage, puts her right back at the center of WWE's women's division.
