Summary

Road Dogg says he had plenty of influence on the WWE WrestleMania 42 lineup before leaving the company about a month before the event.

The former SmackDown co-lead writer said he had "a lot" of input on the card and believes the lineup is about as strong as WWE can make it. He also repeated that his departure was about the pace of the job, not any issue with the company itself.

WrestleMania 42 dates have still not been announced, but the current lineup includes CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship, Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women's Championship, and Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar.

Quote from Road Dogg

"Yeah, I did. A lot."

Asked for his view of the card itself, Road Dogg added:

"I think it's strong. I think it's as strong as you're gonna get. I really do. I'm excited about Brock (Lesnar) and, look, I've got nothing bad to say. They're moving fast and they are growing expeditiously, financially, they're setting records every, you can't say nothing bad. It just was moving too fast for me. I'm getting older and it's a young man's game. They're running fast and they're running fast internationally."

What Road Dogg's WWE WrestleMania 42 comments tell fans

Road Dogg's remarks tie his name directly to some of WrestleMania 42's creative direction, which gives added context to the event's final shape after his exit. That also fits with WWE's current working plan for a 14-match WrestleMania 42 card, a lineup that already looks built around major headline bouts and a deep undercard.

His comments also frame the change less as a creative split and more as a pace issue inside a fast-moving WWE system. For fans, that means the WrestleMania 42 card now in place appears to reflect at least some of Road Dogg's vision even though he is no longer there.

WrestleMania 42 matches mentioned in the update

The broader card referenced in the update spans WWE's top title pictures and several featured grudge matches. Alongside CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, and Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley in championship bouts, the lineup also includes Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan, Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar, A.J. Lee vs. Becky Lynch, Sami Zayn vs. Trick Williams, Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio, a five-way Intercontinental Title ladder match, a four-way Women's Tag Team Title match, and Seth Rollins vs. GUNTHER.
