Summary
Sheamus says his dream is to wrestle a WrestleMania event at Croke Park in Dublin, a stadium that holds more than 82,000 fans and has never hosted a wrestling show.
Speaking during a recent interview, the former WWE champion argued that Ireland has enough representation on the roster to make the idea realistic. He also framed Dublin as a destination city that could turn a major WWE weekend into more than just a one-night event.
The idea fits with WWE's recent willingness to take premium live events into major international markets. The wider pull of the WrestleMania calendar has become a talking point across the industry too, including Will Ospreay pushing AEW to think bigger about that week in the U.S..
Quote from Sheamus
"My dream is to have WrestleMania at Croke, and to perform there. That would be top of my bucket list."
Sheamus later went on to say:
"We have enough (Irish) players in WWE where it would make sense. We have had [PLEs] in Puerto Rico, France, Wales, Scotland, but as outdoor arenas go, I guarantee they'll fill Croke Park. Not just for the event itself, but a reason for fans to come to that location. It's a dream vacation. Come to Dublin, have a crack, drink a Guinness. There are so many things, and then come to an absolute banger of a PLE at Croke Park. You would fill that place ten times over."
What Croke Park could mean for WWE
If WWE ever brought WrestleMania or another stadium-level premium live event to Croke Park, Sheamus would immediately become a natural centerpiece for the promotion's local marketing and fan interest in Ireland. His comments also line up with WWE's broader international event strategy, which has already taken major shows to markets like France, Wales, Scotland and Puerto Rico.
That does not mean a Dublin WrestleMania is suddenly on the books, but it does show how talent inside the company are still openly pushing for major destination events outside the United States.
