Summary

Stephanie Vaquer was attacked backstage by The Judgment Day on the April 27 episode of WWE Raw, and WWE later said she suffered a second-degree AC sprain in her shoulder.

Vaquer was shown walking backstage when Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez, and Liv Morgan jumped her. Rodriguez drove Vaquer into a wall, and Perez followed by smashing a crate into Vaquer's shoulder while Morgan stood over her and talked trash.

Later on the broadcast, Michael Cole told viewers that Vaquer had suffered a second-degree AC sprain and could be sidelined for some time.

The backstage attack on Raw

The segment gave Morgan and The Judgment Day another direct shot at Vaquer after Liv Morgan defeated Stephanie Vaquer for the Women's World Title at WrestleMania 42. WWE has already tied the injury update to that rivalry, and it adds another layer to the issues between Morgan and the former champion.

Vaquer also entered this update with lingering wear from that title match, as Morgan and Vaquer were reportedly both banged up coming out of WrestleMania 42. This new shoulder injury gives WWE a clear storyline reason for Vaquer to be off television if that absence lasts beyond this week.

What Vaquer's injury means for the Women's World Title picture

Vaquer being written off with a shoulder sprain keeps the focus on Morgan's control of the Women's World Title scene and gives The Judgment Day more heat around the champion. If Vaquer misses time, WWE also has an easy path to pause the rematch issue until she is ready to return.

At the same time, the injury announcement keeps Vaquer connected to the title picture instead of moving her away from it. Because the attack came directly from Morgan's side, WWE has already established the kind of issue that can be picked back up whenever Vaquer is cleared.
