Summary
Stokely Hathaway says his time alongside FTR has been one of the most rewarding stretches of his wrestling career.
With Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood set to defend the AEW World Tag Team Titles against Cope and Christian Cage at AEW Dynasty 2026, Hathaway spoke about what the partnership has meant to him, both on screen and behind the scenes.
Quote from Stokely Hathaway
Speaking during a recent interview with Adam Barnard of TheSportster, Hathaway said working with FTR has felt like a new education in wrestling.
"It's been incredible. This has been the most fun I've had in wrestling in a very long time. Aside from that, just everything that I've learned, like every Dynamite, every Collision, every pay-per-view, I learned something new because those guys just have a wealth of knowledge, and not just about tag team wrestling, but just wrestling in general. So, I kind of feel like I'm going back to college and having this education on wrestling. But outside of AEW, all three of us, we get along very well."
Hathaway later went on to say:
"We hang out. We ride on the road together. So, it's just been fantastic. A lot of times, I just cannot believe that I'm working with these guys. I appreciate the fact that they've been very kind to me. Like you said, I've heard they have praised me as well, and it just means a lot."
What Stokely Hathaway's comments mean for FTR at AEW Dynasty
Hathaway's comments underline how closely aligned he has become with Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood ahead of one of their biggest title defenses of the year. That matters at AEW Dynasty, because the match with Cope and Christian Cage is not just about the belts, it is also about how strong FTR's full presentation feels going into a major pay-per-view.
Just as importantly, Hathaway framed the pairing as something that is helping him grow inside AEW. When a manager talks openly about learning from a team like FTR, it reinforces that this is being presented as a serious long-term fit rather than a short-term television attachment.
