Summary
Tony D'Angelo's in-ring segment on the April 28 episode of WWE NXT turned into a multi-man threat by the time it ended, with Will Kroos joining an attack on the NXT Champion after EVIL first stepped up to confront him.
EVIL revealed himself as the person behind the warning box that had been delivered to D'Angelo on the April 21 show. The two men did not come to blows in the ring, but once EVIL backed away, Tavion Heights jumped D'Angelo from behind.
After Heights finished his part of the assault, Kroos arrived and attacked D'Angelo as well. The segment paid off the hype from earlier in the week, when Tony D'Angelo was advertised to issue a challenge on April 28 WWE NXT.
What Will Kroos' NXT appearance adds to Tony D'Angelo's title picture
Tony D'Angelo now has problems coming at him from more than one direction, and that gives NXT several ways to extend the champion's next feud. EVIL was positioned as the central threat in the segment, but the attacks from Tavion Heights and Kroos made it clear D'Angelo is not dealing with a one-man issue.
Kroos also did not arrive as an unknown name. The 29-year-old has wrestled since 2017, is a former PROGRESS Atlas Champion, defended that title earlier this year at Pro Wrestling NOAH's NOAH The New Year 2026 event, and challenged for the RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship on April 12.
