Summary
WWE NXT drew 541,000 viewers on The CW for its April 28 episode, down from the 591,000 viewers the show posted the week before.
The episode also slipped in the 18-49 demographic, finishing with a 0.07 rating after recording a 0.10 on April 21.
Those numbers came while NXT aired against both the NBA Playoffs and NHL Playoffs, which gave the show a much tougher television environment than a normal Tuesday night.
Most-viewed clips from the episode
The most-watched video from the show on YouTube was the reveal of Tony D'Angelo's new challenger for the NXT Title, which reached 367,000 views.
Mr. Iguana's return to help Lola Vice was next at 128,000 views, followed by Lizzy Rain's debut against Nikkita Lyons at 83,000 views. Myles Borne vs. Saquon Shugars for the North American Title drew 70,000 views, and Shiloh Hill's win over Ricky Saints rounded out the top five with 52,000 views.
What the drop means for NXT on The CW
NXT taking a week-to-week hit while the NBA and NHL playoffs were on is notable, but the bigger takeaway is that the show still cleared the half-million mark in a crowded sports window. That keeps this more in line with a scheduling headwind than a dramatic trend change.
It also fits the pattern of other recent audience fluctuations for the brand, including NXT's March 24 dip in viewership. If the next few Tuesdays stabilize once the playoff competition eases, this week may look more like a temporary swing than a warning sign.
