Summary
WWE has added several major names to the April 10 episode of SmackDown, with Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Pat McAfee all set to appear on Friday's show.
The promotion is framing their appearances around the fallout from last week's attack, asking how Rhodes will respond after being assaulted by Orton and McAfee on the previous episode. That angle closed a chaotic show already centered on Rhodes, Orton and McAfee, as seen in this April 3 SmackDown recap.
What WWE announced for SmackDown
Beyond Rhodes, Orton and McAfee, WWE is also advertising Drew McIntyre for the broadcast. McIntyre is set to address Jacob Fatu and has promised to expose the "real" Fatu.
Sami Zayn is also scheduled for the show as he looks for payback against Trick Williams.
The current lineup announced for the April 10 episode includes:
- Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Pat McAfee to appear
- Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu to appear
- Sami Zayn and Trick Williams to appear
Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre drive the next layer of SmackDown
Rhodes returning to address the attack gives WWE an immediate chance to define the next step in that story on television, rather than leaving the angle hanging for another week. McIntyre's advertised segment with Fatu adds another piece of star power to the same episode and suggests Friday's show will lean heavily on advancing multiple top-end issues at once.
With Zayn and Williams also positioned for follow-up, the April 10 card looks built around fallout, confrontation and setting direction for what comes next on SmackDown.
