Summary

WWE has added two key developments to the April 7 episode of NXT on The CW. The show will begin a tournament to crown a new Men’s Speed Champion, and a Triple Threat match featuring Keanu Carver, Jasper Troy, and Josh Briggs is now official.

April 7 NXT lineup updates

The Men’s Speed Championship is vacant after Elio LeFleur suffered a shoulder injury that is expected to sideline him for six months. WWE is now moving straight into a tournament format on the post-Stand & Deliver NXT episode.

This follows the same vacancy update previously reported in the Men’s Speed title announcement.

The newly announced Triple Threat was set up after Briggs served as guest referee for the recent Troy vs. Carver singles bout. Briggs cost Troy that match, then had a post-match altercation with Carver.

NXT consequences for Keanu Carver, Jasper Troy, and Josh Briggs

Keanu Carver, Jasper Troy, and Josh Briggs now move from a referee-related dispute into a direct three-way collision, which gives NXT a clear way to escalate all three at once instead of stretching the issue across separate singles matches.

The Speed title tournament also creates immediate stakes on the same night, because NXT can establish new contenders quickly while the brand resets after Stand & Deliver.
