Summary
AEW has announced Summer Blockbuster as a two-night television special in Cincinnati this June. Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, with Collision: Summer Blockbuster set for Thursday, June 11.
Both shows will be held at the Andrew J Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. AEW also announced additional early June dates for Dynamite in Richmond, Virginia on June 3 and Collision in Youngstown, Ohio on June 6.
This will be the second straight year AEW has used the Summer Blockbuster name for a special television event. Last year's edition was presented as a four-hour special.
AEW's June schedule starts to take shape
By spreading Summer Blockbuster across Dynamite and Collision on back-to-back nights, AEW is again giving the brand a larger footprint on its June calendar instead of treating it as a standard weekly stop. Holding both specials in the same Cincinnati venue also gives the promotion a clear destination run for that week.
The announcement is another example of a promotion filling in its themed TV schedule well ahead of time, much like NJPW's Road to Wrestling Dontaku night one lineup was mapped out for fans in advance.
Ticket information
AEW said early access premium seating begins tomorrow, while general ticket sales are set to open on April 20.
