Summary

AJ Lee left WrestleMania 42 saying she does not view the weekend as a final farewell.

Speaking during the WrestleMania 42 Saturday post-show after Becky Lynch beat her for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship, Lee called it her favorite WrestleMania experience so far and said the match may have been her favorite of her career.

The loss ended Lee's 49-day run with the title, which she won at Elimination Chamber in February. She made two successful defenses before dropping the championship to Lynch on night one.

Quote from AJ Lee

Lee said the night meant even more because members of her family were able to be there in person.

"It's been my favorite WrestleMania experience so far. Maybe my favorite match so far. Even though I lost it, I got to have my family here. For a lot of them, it was the first time ever, and what I wanted to do with that entrance was represent all the fans who have been with me from day one; who have been wearing my outfits, my shirts and my shorts and my shoes and skipping along with me the whole way. That was for you. I love you. I never got to say goodbye last time and I felt bad about that. So this is not goodbye. But, I'll see you soon. I hope."

What AJ Lee's message means after Becky Lynch's win

Lee's comments keep the door open for another WWE appearance instead of framing WrestleMania 42 as a one-night comeback. That matters because her title match with Lynch was presented as a major moment on the card, and Lynch was already part of the conversation heading into the show after addressing the "Becky Hogan" nickname before WrestleMania 42.

For now, the clearest fallout is in the Women's Intercontinental Title picture. Lynch moves forward as champion, while Lee's closing words make it reasonable to expect fans will keep watching for another chapter rather than treating this run as finished.
