Summary
Arkady Aura has opened up about the AEW talents she enjoys announcing most, pointing to Kazuchika Okada, Tommaso Ciampa, and Julia Hart among her favorites, while also recalling a standout moment with Adam Copeland in Australia.
Aura joined AEW in 2024, initially in a backstage role before stepping into ring announcing duties alongside Justin Roberts. In a recent conversation with Denise Salcedo, she reflected on what has made the gig so memorable.
Quote from Arkady Aura
"I would say a moment that I was really just, like, awestruck that that's my job was when we were in Australia and I got to do Adam Copeland and the crowd was singing. Like, that moment was, I was like, I cannot believe that this is what I do every week. I mean, I would say one of my favorites that I get to do is Okada. He has such a great name and such a great entrance. Like, so much fun. Tommaso Ciampa has been just incredible. Yeah, there's so many. It's hard to say, but, like, yeah, I love that, and then I have people like my friends, like Julia Hart. When I get to do hers, that brings me a lot of joy. So, yeah."
Okada and Copeland as Announcing Benchmarks
Aura singling out Okada is not hard to understand. His name carries its own rhythm, his entrance has been one of the most polished in the business for over a decade, and since his run as AEW International Champion, he has become one of the promotion's top attractions. From a ring announcer's perspective, those elements make him a natural standout.
The Copeland moment lands differently. Adam Copeland's return to AEW has been built on genuine crowd connection, and hearing a full arena in Australia sing along unprompted is the kind of thing that reminds everyone in the building, including the person holding the microphone, why they got into this business.
