Summary
CMLL and MLW are set to meet again at Arena Mexico on Friday, May 1.
The event marks the second straight year that the two promotions have brought a joint show to the historic building. No matches have been announced yet, but the card is expected to feature talent from both companies facing off.
What is set for May 1
The May 1 announcement continues a working relationship that has stayed visible over the last year, with MLW talent appearing on CMLL events and both sides also scheduled to come together for Fantasticamania on April 12 in Charleston, South Carolina.
CMLL's Arena Mexico schedule has already stayed active this spring, including a recent National Welterweight Title change on Martes de Arena México.
How the CMLL-MLW partnership is carrying into 2026
CMLL and MLW running this event for a second straight year is the clearest sign that the partnership is still more than a one-off attraction. With Fantasticamania coming up in April and CMLL talent also expected for Azteca Lucha later this year in Illinois, both promotions are keeping that crossover active in both Mexico and the United States.
That matters because Arena Mexico gives the alliance a flagship setting, while the additional U.S. dates keep the relationship in front of MLW's audience outside of this one show.
Last year's main event context
Last year's CMLL vs. MLW event was headlined by Mistico vs. KUSHIDA.
