Summary
AEW added two more matches to the April 29 episode of Dynamite, including a reunion of Cope and Christian Cage in tag team action.
Christian Cage and Cope are now set to face RPG Vice, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta, on Wednesday's show. The match adds another layer to the issue around FTR, who have been aligned with RPG Vice and have already challenged Cage and Cope to an I Quit match at Double or Nothing.
AEW also announced that Kazuchika Okada will defend the AEW International Championship against Ace Austin.
Updated lineup for AEW Dynamite
The current card for Wednesday's show now includes:
- TNT Championship: Kevin Knight (c) vs. MJF
- AEW World Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. Brody King
- AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship: Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) (c) vs. Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander
- Rush to appear
- The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor) to compete
- Christian Cage and Cope vs. RPG Vice (Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta)
- AEW International Championship: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Ace Austin
What Christian Cage, Cope and Okada add to the show
Christian Cage and Cope stepping back into the ring together gives AEW another direct bridge to Double or Nothing, because RPG Vice's connection to FTR keeps that feud moving before the I Quit match.
Okada's title defense also gives the episode a second featured stakes match, and it keeps the AEW International Championship in focus as Tony Khan recently spoke about Okada's rivalry with Kenny Omega while the Rainmaker remains one of the promotion's centerpiece acts.
