Summary

Corey Graves said he is not expecting to return to in-ring competition in the near future, even though he was medically cleared a couple of years ago.

Graves has not wrestled since 2014, when he suffered a concussion in a six-man tag on April 3 and later announced his retirement on December 11 during the NXT TakeOver: R Evolution pre-show. He is currently part of the WWE Raw commentary team with Michael Cole.

Corey Graves and possible WWE or AAA in-ring scenarios

Corey Graves saying he is not actively pursuing a comeback keeps his current WWE broadcast role as his clear priority right now. At the same time, his comments leave a narrow door open if a specific WWE or AAA opportunity is compelling enough.

Quote from Corey Graves

"I got medically cleared a couple of years ago. I started to get back in shape. A lot of things changed within the company as far as everything. So, I don’t foresee that happening in the foreseeable future if at all. One major reason being is I don’t feel like staying in ring shape because it’s a lot of work. I have the luxury of wearing a suit on TV. I like not watching what I eat. Never say never. I think if the right opportunity presented itself, whether that be in WWE or AAA, I would probably jump at the chance. At the same time, it’s not something I’m actively pursuing at the moment,"
