Summary

Dominik Mysterio says his WrestleMania showdown with Finn Balor is personal, and he made it clear he is preparing for more than the standard version of his former Judgment Day stablemate.

Speaking during a recent interview, Dominik said Balor helped shape his darker turn after the split from Rey Mysterio. He also said Balor is already among the best to ever do it, but the Demon persona presents an even bigger problem.

The match comes after Balor was forced out of Judgment Day by Dominik and the rest of the group. That background gives the bout a little more edge heading into WrestleMania, especially with Balor set to wrestle as The Demon.

Quote from Dominik Mysterio

"I mean, absolutely. You know, I've grown up with Finn Balor in this business. Had him with me before he went bad, you know, when I was tagging with my dad at the time, and then once I went bad, he turned me into the bad side. So he flipped me on there. So now he got a little too ahead of himself. Now I gotta go in on Sunday and handle business."

Dominik later went on to say:

"Well, I mean, Finn Balor's always been dangerous. You know, he's one of the best in the world. He's one of the best to ever do it. But now on Sunday, he's not entering as Finn Balor. He is entering as the demon Finn Balor, which puts him on a whole other level. So I gotta bring I don't know what I gotta bring, but definitely I gotta bring something for this demon."

Demon Finn Balor Raises the Stakes for Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio framing Balor this way gives the WrestleMania match a clear hook. He is not talking about a routine grudge match inside Judgment Day. He is talking about facing the version of Balor he sees as most dangerous, which immediately raises the threat level around the bout.

It also adds another layer to the family drama around Dominik heading into the weekend. Rey Mysterio recently said he warned Finn Balor about Dominik years ago, and Dominik's own comments now paint Balor as both a former influence and a present obstacle. That history makes the WrestleMania meeting feel like more than a one-night fallout from a faction split.
