Summary
Finn Balor brought back The Demon for WrestleMania 42 and survived a wild Street Fight against Dominik Mysterio. Dominik made his entrance on a throne as the self-proclaimed King of the Luchadors, while Balor answered with the full Demon presentation for one of the more theatrical match introductions on the show.
Once the bell rang, the match quickly turned violent with tables, chairs, and a kendo stick all coming into play. That fit the stipulation that had only been added earlier in the day, turning the bout into a Street Fight.
Match recap
Balor controlled the early stretch before Dominik swung the momentum by using weapons. Back in the ring, Dominik connected with a 619 and a frog splash, but Balor kicked out at one.
Dominik later avoided the Coup de Grace, set a table up in the corner, and drove Balor through it. He followed with a chair-assisted 619 and another frog splash, but Balor still stayed alive.
The finish came after Dominik tried to set up one more table. Balor recovered, wrapped a chair around Dominik's head, and blasted him with a dropkick in the corner. He then put Dominik through a table with the Coup de Grace to bring the match to an end.
Winner
Finn Balor defeated Dominik Mysterio with a Coup de Grace through a table.
What the WrestleMania 42 result means for Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio
Balor winning this match gives his Demon return immediate value, because WWE had him survive Dominik's biggest offense and then finish the fight decisively. For Dominik, the loss still keeps him tied to a major WrestleMania moment, but Balor leaves the weekend with the stronger claim to momentum coming out of this feud.
