Summary
Jacob Fatu turned Roman Reigns' planned acknowledgment ceremony into a beatdown on Monday's episode of WWE Raw.
Reigns came out expecting the Knoxville crowd to acknowledge him, but the segment quickly fell apart once footage showed Fatu arriving backstage. What followed was a full-scale assault that left Reigns and The Usos laid out by the end of the segment.
How the segment unfolded
Jey Uso tried to calm Fatu down before he reached the arena floor, but Fatu ignored him and headbutted Jey instead. Jimmy Uso was caught next, taking a right hand from Fatu on the stage as the situation escalated.
Once he reached ringside, Fatu brawled with Reigns and drove him through the announce table with a powerbomb. Fatu then started to head backstage before charging back to the ring area and crushing Reigns and The Usos through the barricade with a running hip attack.
What this means for Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu
Fatu did more than refuse to acknowledge Reigns here, he took control of the entire Bloodline-related segment and left WWE with an even bigger issue than it had coming out of Backlash. After Roman Reigns warned Jacob Fatu after the WWE Backlash attack, this Raw segment pushed the rivalry forward with Fatu standing tall over Reigns and both Usos.
That also gives WWE an immediate direction for the next stage of the story. Reigns is no longer dealing with a verbal challenge or a ceremonial slight, he is now chasing payback after Fatu physically overwhelmed him in front of the Raw audience.
