Summary
Jamie Hayter gave Toni Storm credit for defining AEW's women's division over the last three years, but said Storm's current absence also creates room for the rest of the roster to move into bigger spots.
Storm has held the AEW Women's Title four times for a combined 640 days since September 2022. With the former champion off television, Hayter said the division now has a chance to rotate fresh names into the mix.
Quote from Jamie Hayter
Speaking in a recent interview, Hayter said:
"I think Toni did such a fantastic job and no one else could have done that. She really did carry this division for those three years, and she was the division I feel like. Of course, this is an opportunity for myself and for everybody else. It's a chance to kind of mix up the roster a bit more. Maybe put people in the mix that haven't been for a while."
What Hayter's comments mean for AEW Dynasty
Hayter's comments matter immediately because she is heading into AEW Dynasty to challenge Thekla for the AEW Women's Title. If Storm remains out, that leaves even more focus on whoever comes out of Dynasty with the championship and on challengers trying to define the next phase of the division.
It also fits a broader reset around the title scene, with AEW needing more than one central figure while Storm is away. That could give wrestlers who have been outside the main picture a clearer path back into contention, much like the division has tried to do in other recent stories around Storm's orbit, including Lady Frost praising Storm's character work while backing Lena Kross.
