Summary
Tony Khan said "Timeless" Toni Storm was originally expected to wrestle at AEW Dynasty before the pay-per-view card changed in the weeks after Revolution.
Speaking at the Dynasty post-show media scrum, Khan said Storm and Kyle Fletcher had both been lined up to play major roles on the event. That plan changed after Storm was attacked on AEW television and ruled out of in-ring competition.
Storm's absence had already become one of the bigger shifts in AEW's women's division, and Khan's latest comments make it clear she was meant to remain part of the Dynasty lineup before those plans were scrapped.
Quote from Tony Khan
"Also, 'Timeless' Toni Storm, and I made many changes to this pay-per-view over the last few weeks. They (Storm & Kyle Fletcher) were to both been a big part of it. They're both a huge part of AEW. Any time I can have Kyle Fletcher, The Protostar, or 'Timeless' Toni Storm involved in an AEW event, it's very important. So, coming out of Revolution, I expected them each to be in matches on the show."
How Storm's absence changed Dynasty
Khan's remarks confirm AEW had to rework part of the Dynasty card after Revolution, with Storm no longer available for the show. Fletcher was also removed from the event after being linked to a suspected meniscus injury, which led to a new TNT Champion being crowned at the pay-per-view.
That means two wrestlers Khan identified as important pieces of the original plan were ultimately missing from the finished card. Khan has also been outlining AEW's bigger event plans elsewhere, including his note that STARDOM will be part of AEW Forbidden Door 2026.
What this means for Toni Storm in AEW
Toni Storm missing Dynasty removed a major name from AEW's women's side and forced the promotion to keep moving without one of its biggest division anchors. Khan's comments also show the change happened late enough that Storm was still expected to be wrestling on the show coming out of Revolution.
Unless AEW announces a new timeline, the important takeaway is that Storm was part of the original Dynasty creative direction and then had to be taken out of it. That keeps her status as one of the company's most important unresolved stories heading deeper into 2026.
