Summary

Je'Von Evans believes he and Leon Slater have the kind of upside that could eventually carry the biggest stage in wrestling.

With Evans set to compete in the WWE Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match on night two of WrestleMania 42, he said this current wave of talent is capable of changing the business. He specifically grouped Slater with Oba Femi, Trick Williams, and Carmelo Hayes as part of that next generation.

Evans also pointed back to his history with Slater in TNA and said he thinks the two of them could reach the point where a future WrestleMania main event is realistic. The last time they wrestled in the same match was in December, when they faced A.J. Styles and Dragon Lee at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Quote from Je'Von Evans

Speaking during WrestleMania week, Evans said he has major confidence in the group coming up behind today's established stars:

"Me, Leon (Slater), Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Carmelo Hayes, we got some ballers. I feel like this next generation is about to turn wrestling into a whole different attitude, whole different sport. I honestly feel like it's gonna be like a new Attitude Era! I feel highly confident saying that."

When the conversation turned to Slater specifically, Evans said he can already picture the two of them reaching the top of the card:

"Fo' sho', most definitely (Leon Slater and I could headline WrestleMania). We did our thing at TNA, of course, the finish was upset, but we got so many years to redo it. Not redo the finish, let us at least get something! We got so many years to grind and do a match like that again. Hopefully next time, go a bit crazier, have a better match and steal the show again."

What it could mean for Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater

Evans putting Leon Slater in that conversation matters because it frames both men as wrestlers he sees growing far beyond promising prospect status. If Evans delivers in a WrestleMania ladder match at age 21, it only strengthens his case as one of WWE's long-term breakout names.

For Slater, the timing stands out too. He has remained part of the wider wrestling conversation this week after WrestleCon set a new Supershow main event after his planned Ricochet match was canceled. Evans clearly views their past chemistry as something that could be revisited on a much bigger stage if both continue on their current path.
