Summary

Julia Hart shared a lighthearted story from her time with the Varsity Blondes, revealing that one of her earliest matches led to her accidentally throwing pom poms directly at Willow Nightingale during the pandemic-era crowd setup in AEW.

Hart said the moment happened in one of her first matches against Kris Statlander, when the audience area included other wrestlers because of the COVID-era restrictions. She said Willow was seated nearby when she tossed the pom poms into the crowd and ended up hitting her.

The story adds another memorable detail to Hart's pre-House of Black run, before the darker presentation that later reshaped her role on AEW television. It also continues a run of personal reflections from Hart, including when she recently recalled joking about Hart family ties.

Quote from Julia Hart

"Oh gosh. I think actually one of my first matches against Kris Statlander, I had my pom poms and I threw, I chucked them and into the crowd. This is a COVID crowd. So it was like also other AEW wrestlers, and Willow (Nightingale) was sitting right there, and I actually accidentally chucked them at her. So that was like a pretty mean thing for, (my) cheerleader self to do, and I just chucked them right at her. I don’t know if there’s like a clip of it anywhere. I don’t think you can see her. She was like past the camera. But I did that."

Hart later went on to say:

"Yeah, I think we laughed about it, like, a couple years later. She’s like, ‘yeah, I remember when you chucked those pom-poms at me,’ and I was like, ‘oh, yeah, I did. Like, oops.'"

Julia Hart's AEW character shift makes the story stand out

Julia Hart's story works because it highlights how different her Varsity Blondes presentation was from the version of her now associated with House of Black and the Sisters of Sin. That contrast gives AEW fans an easy reminder of how far her character has evolved since those early appearances.

It also lands as a small but memorable Willow Nightingale anecdote because Hart made clear there was no lingering issue. By her account, the moment became something the two could laugh about years later instead of a real point of tension.
