Summary
Kevin Knight said his run as a Trios Champion alongside Hangman Page helped raise both his confidence and his standing with AEW crowds.
Knight, who won the TNT Championship at AEW Dynasty by taking the Casino Gauntlet, looked back on that title run while discussing how different each of his trios reigns felt. He said Page's presence pulled the group closer to the top of the card and helped fans see that he could hang with AEW's biggest names.
Quote from Kevin Knight
"Yeah man, both of those Trios (Championships) reigns were completely different and just different styles that we had to go through, different personalities. When we won that Trios (Titles) for the first time, Hangman was in the middle of going after the world title and we kind of got roped into that world championship picture as we were with Hangman Adam Page."
Knight later went on to say:
"So I think he really elevated us in the eyes of the crowd to see that we can hang with the top guys of the company and not only did it boost our confidence, I think it helped us build a rapport with the crowd. Hangman comes with so much intensity, so much character. We can only feed off of that, so it was dope seeing that first hand and just picking his brain on that."
What Hangman Page's influence could mean for Kevin Knight's TNT run
Knight is already moving into a bigger singles spotlight as TNT Champion, and his comments suggest that time next to Page mattered because it got him used to working around main-event energy instead of just chasing it. That matters now, with Knight set to defend the title against Claudio Castagnoli after his Spring BreakThru title match was announced.
If Knight can carry that same confidence into his singles defenses, AEW has a clearer path to presenting him as more than a fresh title holder. His trios run gave him credibility by association, and this TNT reign gives him the chance to turn that into staying power on his own.
