Summary
Kevin Owens says being away from wrestling during his recovery has only reinforced how much he still wants to stay involved in the business.
Owens has been sidelined since before WrestleMania 41 after revealing that he needed neck surgery. While there is still no confirmed timetable for his return to WWE television, he will appear on the upcoming third season of WWE LFG, where he will be in a position to work with younger talent.
Quote from Kevin Owens
In a teaser trailer promoting the new season, Owens spoke openly about what time away from the ring has been like for him:
"I've been wrestling for 25 years. Ultimately, for me, I just want to help the next generation. Also, I don't really know what I'd do with myself if I didn't. This is all I've done since I was 15. This is what I love and have always loved. Right now, I've been off for eight, nine months, because of my neck surgery. I'm losing it. I just want to be around it."
What Owens' WWE LFG Role Says About His Current Situation
Owens being part of WWE LFG gives him a way to stay visible while he continues recovering, even with no return date announced. For WWE, it also keeps one of its most established voices connected to the product in a role that fits exactly what he described, helping the next generation while he is still out of action.
WWE LFG season three is set to premiere Sunday on A&E.
