Summary

La Catalina says her move from CMLL to AAA came from wanting a new stage in her career, and she believes the switch immediately gave her a wider international spotlight.

Speaking during a media junket, Catalina said she spent months thinking through the decision before finishing out April and starting what she described as a new chapter. She said AAA offered the kind of platform she wanted as she looks to keep growing and become a more memorable performer.

Catalina added that she was surprised by how much attention her AAA arrival generated outside Mexico, pointing to reactions from Japan, China, Chile, and across Latin America.

Quote from La Catalina

"I’m so grateful for all of that, thank you so much for the opportunity and everything I’ve experienced, but now I’m in a different phase of my life and I wanted something more. You’re always going to want more and strive to better yourself. I think this was a huge risk, I swear I spent months thinking about what would happen. I was as professional for as possible on the other side, I worked until the last day of the month, April passed, and my new journey began."

Catalina later went on to say:

"My new chapter is now about improving myself, getting different things done, and continuing to grow, and I believe that, these days, AAA offers that. It has a platform for the international wrestler. What I mean is that I made my debut, and it wasn’t just a big deal in Mexico. It made a huge splash all over the world. I checked Twitter, in Japan, in China, and in my own country (Chile), and there were so many people talking about it. All across Latin America, people knew that La Catalina had made a change. That’s what we’re looking for as professionals, every wrestler wants to make a name for themselves through that. Everything in this world changes, entertainment, music, movies, artificial intelligence, everything can be done with that, and the wrestler has grown too. It’s no longer just about getting in the ring and putting on a good show, you have to offer the audience something memorable so they’ll take that memory with them. Catalina learned what she needed to learn, she improved a lot, she took some well-deserved and awesome ass-whoopings, but now comes the challenge of becoming a character who stays in people’s memories. To be someone who will be remembered for a period of time, maybe even a lifetime, remember who is La Catalina, that’s the work I want to do now, and that’s what I see with AAA. My debut was crazy, even I didn’t expect the impact it would have. I thought it would be cool, people would cheer along and all that, but it caused a huge buzz, something I didn’t even expect. Everything that comes next is going to be super incredible, super new, and we’re going to be the talk of the town."

La Catalina's AAA start and what comes next

La Catalina has not wrestled her first AAA match yet, but her arrival already put her opposite Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer. That gives AAA a clear first direction for Catalina on screen, and it also shows the promotion is presenting her as an important addition right away.

Her comments also underline why this move matters beyond a simple roster change. Catalina framed AAA as the place where she can broaden her profile internationally, so the value of this jump will be measured not only by wins and losses, but by whether AAA turns that early buzz into a sustained featured role.
