Summary

Lil Yachty made it clear on the April 24 episode of WWE SmackDown that his association with Trick Williams is not ending after WrestleMania season.

Yachty stood alongside Trick during the new WWE United States Champion's in-ring celebration and said he was not there for a one-off celebrity cameo. He said he was staying on SmackDown, and Trick responded by comparing their partnership to Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones.

The segment also included Yachty saying Trick was ending the United States Title Open Challenge.

Sami Zayn Crashes Trick Williams' Celebration

The celebration did not last long. The Gingerbread Man appeared during the segment, then revealed himself as Sami Zayn before attacking both Trick Williams and Lil Yachty.

That gave the segment an immediate wrestling payoff instead of leaving it as a straight celebrity appearance. It also put Trick's United States Title reign right back into conflict as soon as the celebration began.

What Lil Yachty's SmackDown Role Means For Trick Williams

Keeping Lil Yachty attached to Trick Williams gives WWE another way to frame Trick as a crossover act now that he holds the United States Title. At the same time, Sami Zayn interrupting the celebration points the focus back to the championship scene, which matters more than the celebrity element if this angle is moving toward Trick's first major title feud on SmackDown.
