Summary

WWE NXT has made three matches official for its April 28 episode, including a North American Championship defense for Myles Borne.

Borne will defend the title against Saquon Shugars after Shugars tried to help Dion Lennox during Borne's defense in week two of NXT Revenge. That interference backfired, and Shugars later said he went to NXT General Manager Robert Stone looking to secure another opportunity for DarkState.

According to Shugars, Stone ruled that Lennox could not receive an immediate second shot, which opened the door for another member of the group to challenge instead.

Official matches for April 28

The newly announced lineup includes:

  • Ricky Saints vs. Shiloh Hill
  • Myles Borne (c) vs. Saquon Shugars for the NXT North American Championship
  • BirthRight vs. E.K. Prosper and Dorian Van Dux

What it means for Myles Borne and Ricky Saints

Myles Borne now gets a title defense that directly grows out of DarkState's failed attempt to swing the championship picture in its favor, which gives the North American title story a clear next chapter on April 28.

Ricky Saints also stays in focus on the same card after he recently discussed how highly he views his NXT run so far. If Saints beats Shiloh Hill, he should remain firmly in the mix as NXT keeps building around its newer names.
