Nashville is back in the mix for a future WrestleMania.

A report on Thursday stated that WWE is in active negotiations with the city about bringing WrestleMania 44 to Nashville. That report gained more weight when Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp confirmed it is in discussions about landing the event.

Nashville's WrestleMania push

The latest update adds to a story that has been brewing for years. Back in 2021, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp CEO Butch Spyridon said WWE had given the city a verbal commitment for WrestleMania 43 once the new Nissan Stadium was ready.

That stadium is still being built and is scheduled to open in 2027. WrestleMania 43 is now set for Saudi Arabia, so Nashville's path appears to have shifted to a later year instead.

With WWE already moving on from WrestleMania 42, this matters because Nashville now looks like a serious candidate for WrestleMania 44 rather than a city waiting on an old promise. If WWE does finalize the deal, the new Nissan Stadium would give the company the kind of large-scale venue it usually wants for its biggest weekend of the year.
