Summary

Nic Nemeth says politics is still part of his long-term thinking, even after building a career that included world title runs in wrestling and time in stand-up comedy.

Speaking on the Generation Of Wrestling podcast, Nemeth looked back on the plans he had for himself 20 years ago and said public office remains something he would still seriously consider. He specifically pointed to Cleveland as a place where he would like to do some good down the line.

The comments come as Nemeth prepares for his next TNA appearance, with a match against AJ Francis scheduled for TNA Rebellion on Saturday, April 11.

Quote from Nic Nemeth

Nemeth said his original roadmap stretched far beyond wrestling:

"20 years ago, the plan was to be pre-law at Kent State, become a lawyer while I'm training for wrestling, become a two time world champion, host Saturday Night Live, join the UFC for one fight, and then go on to be the mayor of Palm Springs and then move my way into being a senator. I still have those political aspirations, I love everything about politics."

Nemeth later expanded on why the idea still appeals to him:

"I love politics, I still follow the law. I get certain Laws For Dummies books, that's something I like to read in between to stay smart with everything and learn as much as I possibly can. So yes, I absolutely would still love to do that and I feel like that would be something I could very well do some good, maybe for Cleveland down the line."

What the Nic Nemeth comments add before TNA Rebellion

Nic Nemeth's remarks give a clearer picture of how he views life beyond the ring, and that adds a little extra context to his current TNA run heading into Rebellion. Rather than talking like someone with no plan outside wrestling, Nemeth described a bigger personal path that still includes public service as a serious goal.

That does not change the immediate focus of his match with AJ Francis, but it does show Nemeth is thinking about his future in broader terms while still competing at a high level.
