Summary
NJPW has added two championship matches to Wrestling Redzone, which takes place April 25 at Hiroshima Sun Plaza as part of the Road to Wrestling Dontaku tour. The show will feature an IWGP Tag Team Championship defense from the Knock Out Brothers, Yuto-Ice and OSKAR, and an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship bout.
The heavyweight tag title match does not have a confirmed challenger yet. That spot will be decided on April 20, when United Empire faces Bishamon on night two of the Road to Wrestling Dontaku.
Two tag title matches added to the card
The announced card includes Knock Out Brothers defending the IWGP Tag Team Championship against the winner of United Empire vs. Bishamon.
Wrestling Redzone will also feature Robbie X and Taiji Ishimori defending the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship against Ichiban Sweet Boys, Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles.
What Wrestling Redzone means for the tag title picture
By setting the heavyweight title defense before the challenger is known, NJPW has made the April 20 match between United Empire and Bishamon matter even more heading into Hiroshima. It gives Wrestling Redzone a clear tag-team focus on a tour that is already shaping several championship directions.
The junior heavyweight tag title match adds another layer to that buildup. With NJPW already moving pieces around its bigger title scene after the IWGP Heavyweight Championship changed hands at Sakura Genesis, stacking Wrestling Redzone with two tag title bouts helps give the April 25 card a stronger identity before Wrestling Dontaku.
