Tony D'Angelo and Ulka Sasaki stand out on the Lakeland card

D'Angelo leaving Lakeland with the NXT Men's Championship intact keeps the title picture steady on the live-event loop, even as television angles continue to build around him. That also gives NXT a straightforward way to keep its top champion visible between TV appearances, especially after the recent attack on D'Angelo involving Will Kroos and EVIL.

Sasaki's placement in a featured singles match also made him one of the more notable names on this card, even in defeat to Carver. On a house show built around quick roster reps and a championship main event, that kind of booking still says something about who NXT wants fans to keep an eye on.
