Summary
TNA iMPACT on April 9 from the Alario Center in New Orleans closed a major step on the road to Rebellion, as Mike Santana and Eddie Edwards met for a contract signing before their championship clash. The segment began as a verbal look back at their different paths in TNA, but it did not stay civil for long.
Edwards framed himself as the man who stayed, while Santana said he left to test himself before returning to the company where his heart always was. Family also became part of the exchange before the situation broke down.
The contract signing came after TNA had already made the bout official for the pay-per-view, which the company had announced earlier this week.
The contract signing did not end cleanly
Cedric Alexander attacked Santana during the segment, adding another layer of chaos to the build. Leon Slater then ran in to make the save.
That closing angle gave the Santana vs. Edwards program a more volatile feel just days before Rebellion. Instead of ending with signatures and a stare-down, TNA turned the segment into a physical warning that Santana may be walking into more than a one-on-one fight.
Results

What Cedric Alexander's attack changes before Rebellion
Cedric Alexander's involvement gives Santana another problem to manage before he reaches Edwards at Rebellion. Even if the title match itself remains the focus, TNA used this segment to show that Santana is heading into the weekend with enemies circling him from more than one direction.
For Edwards, that disruption helps keep the pressure on Santana without needing to reveal anything new about the match itself. With Rebellion close, TNA's priority now looks less about selling the contract and more about showing how unstable Santana's path to the bout has become.
