Summary

Thekla will put the AEW Women's World Title on the line in a four-way match at AEW Double or Nothing on May 24. AEW announced on the May 9 edition of AEW Fairway to Hell that Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter have all been added as challengers for the pay-per-view title bout.

Double or Nothing is scheduled for Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York later this month. The growing card also includes Ricochet's Stadium Stampede challenge to Chris Jericho.

What Thekla's title match means for Double or Nothing

Thekla now heads into Double or Nothing without a one-on-one challenger, which gives AEW a way to stack one of the night's biggest women's matches around four established names at once. With Shida, Statlander and Hayter all in the field, the title picture gets more crowded immediately and the pay-per-view adds another bout with clear stakes attached to it.
